Dark matter makes up a quarter of the energy of the universe, which is about fives times of the ordinary matter. However, as of today, dark matter still remains elusive on Earth despite the overwhelming evidence in astrophysical observations due to its gravitational effects. In this talk, we discuss why we think that dark matter particles exist, and the current theoretical and experimental efforts in dark matter searches. Currently, there are three types of experiments in which we hope to detect dark matter, including dark matter direct detection experiments, dark matter indirect detection experiments, and collider experiments. We discuss some explicit dark matter models and their possible detection signals in these experiments. We also discuss some recent anomalies in dark matter searches and the implications, including the most recent cosmic ray excess events in satellite experiments。 |
