In this talk, I will briefly review our previous work on heavy neutrino and new Higgs searches. The search strategies are developed for sterile neutrinos at proton-proton colliders and for singly charged Higgs at electron-proton colliders. For heavy sterile neutrinos with masses below $M_W$, the trilepton plus missing energy final states are investigated to discover sterile neutrinos and to discriminate between Dirac and Majorana heavy neutrinos. When the masses of sterile neutrinos are above 200 GeV, we use the final state of lepton flavour violating (but lepton number conserving) dilepton dijet ($e^\pm \mu^\mp jj$) to search for sterile neutrinos in lowscale seesaw scenarios. For extra Higgs bosons, we search for the fiveplet singly charged Higgs $H^\pm$ in the Georgi-Machacek model at the ep colliders by exploiting the production of $p\, e^- \to j\, e^-\, H^\pm$ via the $ZW^{\pm}$ fusion process, and decay as $H^\pm \to Z\, W^{\pm} \to (l^+ l^-)\, (jj)$. For all analysis, the Multivariate Analysis (MVA) methods are performed to maximally reject the Standard Model (SM) background at the detector level and to enhance the discovering limits. |

王科臣,南开大学理学学士,美国德克萨斯农工大学(Texas A&M University)理学博士,专业为物理学。取得博士学位后,担任中国科学院高能物理研究所 高能物理前沿研究中心博士后,该中心为在中国建设 环形正负电子对撞机(CEPC) 和 超级质子质子对撞机(SppC)而新建,其为该中心的首届博士后。后赴德国电子同步加速器研究所(Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron)担任博士后研究员。2018年9月起,被武汉理工大学理学院物理科学与技术系特评特聘为教授。 |
