There has been suggestive evidence of intermediate-mass black holes (IMBHs; 10^{3−4} M⊙) existing in some globular clusters and dwarf galaxies, but IMBHs as a population still remain elusive. I will describe a study on the long-term accretion and the observational consequence of the IMBH-main sequence star tidal disruption events. We find that the event will be UV / optically bright for a decade, followed by a long decay of X-ray emission. Looking for these luminous and long-term events in globular clusters and nearby dwarf galaxies could unveil the IMBH population. I will also describe recently discovered fast, ultra-luminous X-ray bursts, and a model explaining them which involves an IMBH and a white dwarf orbiting around it on an eccentric orbit. |

申荣锋,博士毕业于美国德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校天文系(2010)。先后在加拿大多伦多大学天文与天体物理系(2010-2013)、以色列耶路撒冷希伯来大学 (2013-2015)做博士后。2015年8月起任中山大学物理与天文学院副教授。研究方向为和黑洞相关的爆发性天文暂现源:伽马射线暴、TDE、超亮X射线源。 |
