X-ray emission detected from astrophysical sources is an indicator of energetic processes taking place in a range of sources. X-rays can be observed from the Sun, other single stars, binary stars, centers of galaxies, and other places. I am going to make a short tour through some of the more interesting places in the Universe where X-ray are produced and explain what we can learn about their emitters by analysing the observed emission in some details. |
