Jets and lobes in the intracluster medium (ICM) are expected to be affected by their galaxy cluster environment and indeed observations often reveal distortions in jet-lobe morphologies. We present 3D MHD modeling of these systems in different cluster environment conditions such as background winds. We will discuss several findings: 1) jet survival is non-trivial and it can place strong constraints on the jet composition (e.g., the relative importance of jet kinetic energy vs. magnetic energy); 2) jet distortions can be used to infer the ICM conditions, its motion and energetics; 3) jet polarized emission properties (polarized fraction and direction) show strong dependence on jet composition. These results place strong constraints on the jet physics and have important implications for inferring AGN feedback in the ICM. |
