Magnetic reconnection is an effective and promising energy dissipation mechanism in astrophysical magnetized plasmas. Many scientists believe that it is magnetic reconnection process that cause the electromagnetic energy dissipated to the kinetic energy of the ejected material, so as to provide a theoretically feasible access to explain the acceleration of the astrophysical jets. However, it is hard to understand the concrete process of the magnetic reconnection and the accompanying production of the current sheets from the perspective of finding analytical solution. The lecturer will illustrate the latest progress in MHD simulation of the magnetic reconnection and its application to the internal shock waves in GRBs and AGNs. |
